Vinopolis Launches Glamorous Hen Parties for January 2009

Vinopolis, London's wine tasting experience in the heart of vibrant Bankside and just by London Bridge, has created the ultimate party for hens to enjoy before walking down the aisle. Launching in January 2009, hens and their girlfriends will be greeted by a host bearing a delicious glass of Prosecco, famously used in Bellini's at Harry's bar, Venice and learn a little about the provenance of this delectable sparkler.

The girls are then taught how to sniff, sip and slurp like professionals in a fun and interactive 'how to taste' session. Then comes the fun as the hens try and identify which is red and which is white wine only using the power of smell. Once they've made their decision they'll then go on and learn a little more about each wine including the grape variety, region and the producer of the wines and its' qualities.

As any Sex and the City fan knows, cocktails are the key to a fun and glamorous life and the next bit involves just that. With the guidance from a Vinopolis cocktail expert the Bride is allowed to masterfully create her own cocktail for her and her fellow hens to enjoy.

After cocktails it's on to Champagne to learn how this girls' favourite is made with each hen receiving a small bottle of Champagne to drink as well three extra tasting tickets to enjoy on the tour. The girls can then go to any of the tasting tables and choose 3 extra wines to taste.

As a departing gesture the Bride receives a gift from Vinopolis including a Suzy Atkins' Girls Guide to Wine, a disposable camera, two wine glasses and a bottle of wine.

• Vinopolis is open 5 days a week from 12noon. Vinopolis is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Guests should check the website for closing times on the day they wish to go. Last admittance is 2.5 hours prior to closing time.
