What is Vinopolis?
Vinopolis is London's leading wine tasting based visitor attraction and corporate event venue. Located in London's vibrant Bankside, Vinopolis sits alongside Borough Market, the Tate Modern, Southwark Cathedral and Shakespeare's Globe. Set under spectacular Victorian arches, this magnificent 2.5 acre site is devoted to the world of wine, whisky, rum and beer. Visitors can spend an afternoon or evening sampling and learning about wines from around the world. Once you have completed the Vinopolis tour you can continue to sample the pleasures of food and drink in the Blue Bar, Wine Wharf, Brew Wharf or the Cantina Vinopolis restaurant. Vinopolis offers the greatest selections of whisky in London… if not the world in the Whisky Exchange, Majestic's Wine Warehouse and 4 of the best bars and restaurants in the city all on one site.

What's in the Vinopolis Tour?
The Vinopolis self-guided wine tour offers a rare opportunity to learn about wines, whiskies, rums and cocktails from all around the world. Suitable for visitors of all levels of wine knowledge the Vinopolis Wine Tour is an imaginative journey through the world's leading wine producing regions including Italy, France, Australia and California, as well as the lesser known regions such as Georgia. You will discover how the process of wine production in a location is affected by the particular climatic conditions, or by specific local production techniques. During your tour, you'll get the chance to taste at least 5 of the wines that most take your fancy after having had the chance to find out a little more about them, and about the flavours you should expect to experience.

What is the nearest tube/train/bus station?
The nearest station for Tube, Train and Bus is London Bridge. If coming from the Underground (Jubilee and Northern Line), take the Borough High Street West exit, and at the top of the stairs take the first right turn into Stoney Street. For the Main Visitor Entrance carry on to the end of Stoney Street and turn left into Clink Street at Starbucks/Amano Café. Wine Wharf and Brew Wharf are located on the left down Stoney Street.

What other tasting opportunities are available?
You will able to sample a specially prepared Bombay Sapphire cocktail prepared by one of our mixologists in our Bombay Sapphire Blue Room. For the brave, the Vinopolis tour provides a unique opportunity to sample Absinthe. The Vinopolis tour also boasts a unique whisky attraction, The Still Room, where visitors can learn and sample exceptional whisky malts and blends. The latest exciting addition to the tour is the Authentic Caribbean Rum Experience. Visitors can taste a range of authentic Caribbean rums and learn more about the origins and provenance of this famous spirit.

How can I book tickets?
All tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day using our secure online shop. Please note that pre-booked tickets must be booked at least 48 hours in advance or call the Tour Sales Team on 020 7940 8300 (Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30 hrs).

Do I have to book in advance?
No, although booking in advance is essential if you planning to visit Thursday or Friday evenings (after 4pm) or anytime on a Saturday. Booking in advance is therefore recommended.

When is the busiest/quietest time to attend?
The Vinopolis tour is at its busiest all day on a Saturday or a Thursday and Friday after 5pm. The quietest period is between 12 pm and 5pm on a Thursday, Friday and Sunday - dependant on group bookings.

Is there a discount for groups?
For groups of 8 or more people please see our Tour Group Discounts section for the latest discounts. For groups of less than 8 people, you can pre-book tickets a minimum of 48 hours in advance by using our secure online shop.

Is there food available?
On the Vinopolis site there are 3 dining options, Cantina Vinopolis Restaurant, Brew Wharf and the Wine Wharf Wine Bar. You can also combine a Wine Tour with a delicious meal in either Cantina Vinopolis or Brew Wharf with our great value Wine & Dine Packages. Cantina Vinopolis has a lovely -relaxed atmosphere serving superb dishes with a Mediterranean influence. Wine Wharf and Brew Wharf are perfect for a light meal and to continue tasting the pleasures of some interesting wines and beers. Within the Wine Tour itself tapas from Brindisa is available to purchase.

Is there a dress code?
Only in Cantina Vinopolis (our Restaurant) where smart casual is required. They can be contacted on 0207 940 8333.

Is there somewhere my group can meet before/after the tour?
An ideal meeting point is Bar Blue situated at the main entrance where people can gather and have a relaxing drink.

Can I upgrade my tickets?
Wine Tour tickets cannot be directly exchanged for alternative tickets (i.e. Grapevine for Spirit), however extra tasting vouchers can be purchased at our main ticket desk or whilst in the Wine Tour as follows:
5 Extra wine tastings - £4
Premium tasting - £2.50
4 Premium tastings - £8
3 Champagne tastings - £5
Absinthe tasting - £1
Whisky tasting - £1
Rum tasting- £1.50 each/ 3 for £3.50
2 Beer tastings - £1

Can I use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers?
Tesco Vouchers can be ONLY be used against the value of any of our self guided tour tickets but NOT for any other packages including the wine and dine packages. Please call 020 7940 3000 to book.

Can I use Network Rail 241 Vouchers?
Yes, but these tickets can not be booked online, please call 020 7940 3000 and speak to a member of the tour sales team

Can I bring children along?
Yes, children are permitted in the tour, admission for under sixteens is free however it is not possible to take small children into the 'How to Taste Wine' session where people are listening to the Vinopolis guide for 15 minutes
