The Original Wine Challenge (Blind Tasting)

Is it really possible to guess grape variety, country of origin and even vintage by drinking a wine? This team building activity is designed to educate your palate and your guests’ too. One of our  original team building packages, the Vinopolis Wine Challenge is the perfect wine tasting evening if you are looking for an informal, entertaining event with a competitive twist. Guests are welcomed in style with a flute of Champagne and then one of our experts will introduce you and your guests to the art of blind wine tasting. This team building activity includes tasting a range of six styles of wines from around the world. Our guides will interact and assist guests in determining key features such as colour, nose and palate of the wines. The challenge incorporates two extra wines, whose identity is concealed. Guests will be asked to identify the various different aspects of the wine such as grape variety, country of origin and age, in order to make an 'educated guess' as to what the wine could be. A prize is given to the winner!

The Epicurean Challenge (Food and Wine)

Ever wondered what food goes best with big spicy Australian Shiraz or a subtle Nuits Saint George? Or maybe what wine could possibly match a fragrant Thai Green Curry? Then this tasting activity is for you. This is our most popular team building package that never ceases to impress, it includes the chance to learn about the classic wine regions of the world and experiment with food and wine pairing. Guests are welcomed in style with a flute of Champagne and your host will introduce our specially trained Vinopolis tasting experts who will guide you through a fantastic tasting journey. Guests will taste and compare the speciality varietals and "terroir" of three wines from the magic vineyards of Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley or Italy. The event experience continues as guests are served specially prepared food dishes one after the other and asked to match each one of them to a selection of six wines whose identity has been concealed. The Vinopolis Champagne Challenge

The Vinopolis Champagne Challenge will give you and your guests an insight into the fabulous wines of Ruinart - the oldest Champagne House. With a refined, distinguished taste and clean, light, pure aromas, Ruinart were awarded 4 gold medals at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) held in London last May. This makes it one of the most critically acclaimed Champagne Houses today. Your guests will learn how to recognise the unique flavours and scents which differentiate Champagnes ranging from £35 up to a fabulous £200 per bottle. The Robert Joseph “Wine Apprentice” Contest  (Wine Blending Challenge) 

Ever thought you could make it as Sir Alan’s Apprentice? Could you project manage a team to victory? Or would you end up on the firing line? Devised by Robert Joseph, who was once described by Decanter Magazine as one of the 50 people who would influence the way we drink wine in the 21st Century,  this event is the ulitmate team building experience if you are looking for a wine challenge with a seriously competitive twist. Arriving at 10am, guests will be given an introductory lesson in wine tasting and a briefing on the wine market.  The contest begins once guests have been split into their teams where they will be tasked with the delectable challenge of having to add value to wine.Using the imagination and expertise of your team, guests will tackle the task of blending a marketable wine from a set of samples of varying quality and price create a name, designing a label, choosing a bottle, and preparing a sales and marketing campaign. All in just 90 minutes!t noon, after the wines have been sampled by the judges, the teams will present their sales and advertising campaign before their efforts will be judged to determine who has produced the best combination of blend, label, price and campaign.  The winning team will be awarded prizes. After an adrenalin fuelled morning, guests will be treated to a relaxing and informal two course lunch at Cantina Restaurant. Guest depart at approximately 2.30pm.

The Cocktail Experience (Cocktail Creation)
Mixology: The study or skill of preparing mixed drinks

Learn how to shake and stir your favourite cocktails in The Bombay Sapphire Experience at Vinopolis. Everyone will have a chance to mix and sample their own drinks in this fun, competitive and delicious team building activity. Our Mixologist will introduce you to Bombay Sapphire, its history and making and then you will then enjoy a Mixology Masterclass with your Bombay Sapphire Mixologist, who promises to energise, educate and inspire… The interactive demonstration will give you an insight into the A to Z of bar culture, the basics of bartending and ultimately how to create a range of cocktails from the classic Martini to more contemporary creations. The Mixologist will then separate the group into teams which, with this new insight into bartending, will have to create and name a cocktail. These new creations will be then impartially judge and each member of the best team will be rewarded with a prize.

The Whisky Experience (Whisky Tasting)

The whisky experience has been designed with one objective in mind: to let you discover, appreciate and taste the wonderful world of Whisky. Guests enjoy a 3-hour interactive evening with their very own whisky expert learning the difference between single malt, blend, cask and bourbon whiskies. Everyone will enjoy a classic Whisky Sour on arrival and then experience a journey of discovery through the world of whisky. Guests will learn tasting techniques first-hand with numerous whiskies and associated canapés designed to compliment the various flavours. The event finishes with an interactive blind tasting designed to test your knowledge with whisky prizes for the winners.

The Grand Wine Challenge (Seated Blind Tasting with Food)

Is it really possible to guess grape variety, country of origin and even vintage by drinking a wine? This team building  activity is designed to educate you and your guests to do so. Hosted by our own wine expert and tasting guides this team  event is specifically designed to provide an entertaining, competitive and team spirited event, themed on the pleasures of food and wine.

Divided in two rounds the competition consists of guessing grape, country of origin and vintage of firstly three white wines and secondly three red wines. Your host will introduce you to the art of blind tasting white wine and to add to the fun one bowl food is circulated in each of the rounds to give you an opportunity to guess which of the wines is the best match. Specially trained Vinopolis Wine Tasting Guides will be present to interact and assist you and your team in determining key features such as colour, nose and palate of the wines. The team with the closest answers will win a superb prize.
